Help! Having trouble downloading sims 3 mods!?

I've done everything, including putting the resource file in my root folder and making a new file called Mods and another one inside it called Packages. Then i put the package file in that folder and double click it. when i do it seems to start loading but the only thing that happens is the Sims 3 game launcher tab at the bottom flashing.



does it matter if its in...

C:\Users\Emma\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages

instead of...

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages



i also tried using the helper monkey, but i either the same thing happens or i get access denied.Help! Having trouble downloading sims 3 mods!?
you dont open the .package file. launch the sims 3 and you should see the custom content in CAS. you are only supposed to open .sims3package files.Help! Having trouble downloading sims 3 mods!?
yeah, I tried that too on my PS3 for the SW: TFU Jedi Temple add-on level, and it failed the first try.



but I have it now, and it's actually just awesome!
