What happened to my sims 3 mods?!?!!?

i just went into my documents%26gt;electronic arts%26gt;sims 3...which is where my mods folder usually is but it's just not there anymore! the last time i played the sims was probably about a month or two ago and i had no problems with it whatsoever, but now i just turned it on and the mods folder was NO WHERE to be found! i even looked into all the folders that are there, and nothing. i had a good 20 or so mods installed that i liked VERY much and i don't know how to find them again! i thought about just redoing it all together, but when i was looking through everything, i realized how hard it would be to replace all of my mods that i had, i can't even remember what all of them were called! I did play the game, just to see if they were still there and not showing up, but there not there anymore! all of the options i previously had with my mods (like master controller, etc.) aren't available anymore! GAHH! D:



i was just wondering if this is something that ever happens, why it happens so i can prevent it, and how i can recover those missing files. i'm not very tech-savvy, but i can figure stuff out pretty easily if it's broken down into steps. so if you could please help with this that'd be great!



just so you know, i didn't delete them myself (obviously); i'm on the same account i was on before when it was working (about 1 and a half months ago...?); i searched within my documents to see if it might have gotten moved but it wasn't there; i haven't really done any "cleaning" of my pc lately, and if i did a full cleaning i would have spotted it and not deleted it; i'm the only one who uses this computer so no one else deleted it; i have a pc with windows vista.

Ok the first thing you can do is a search for the folder, if your sure you didn't delete then it might be somewhere else in your game folder. Go to start, search, all files and folders. Type mods in the search bar and click local drive c. If its on your hard drive this should find it.
