My sims 3 Mods won't work?

I downloaded the 7-zip thing and the other thing to get Packages and Override in my Mods folder. And Modthesims has let me download a bunch of mods, the problem is that they aren't working! Is there anything else I need to download?My sims 3 Mods won't work?
