Where to put sims 3 mods on computer?

I have sims 3 and i have downloaded the sims 3 mods to documents and sims 3 and mods. but it doesnt work, am i supposed to put it somewhere else?Where to put sims 3 mods on computer?

well i've never done anything like that before but i know where you might have to put it either try and see if its something you install which i doubt but if not go to "My Computer" and open "(C:)" drive and go to "Program Files" and then look for some folder that might say sims on it or sims 3 or maybe the name of the company who made the game or something then put the mod in there if that doesn't work i suggest either don't use od cause it could possibly mess up your game and you'd have to reinstall messing up your saved game and all, or go on youtube and type in name of mod and look up a video youtube knows EVERYTHING??!??!??!?? oh and if you get it to work or maybe if you don't either way you should check out www.SuperCheats.com and look for the game on there it will bring up codes and tell you how to use them some are really cool, or you could get better mods from www.cheatengine.org/ when you get there go to the forums and search "sims 3 mod download" and most like several will pop up and since its forum with a lot of really good hackers and computer geniuses they will explain how to use it.
